Audiocenter DS26 -Dual 6" Point-Source Installation Loudspeaker

The Audiocenter DS26 is a 200W passive full-range loudspeaker using two 6" LF drivers in a vertically stacked configuration, producing 119dB continuous / 125dB peak SPL from a cabinet just 200mm wide. Where the DS08 achieves the same peak SPL with a single 8" driver, the DS26 reaches it with dual 6" drivers at 4Ω impedance -a design that delivers tighter vertical pattern control, more even coverage at distance, and the same narrow footprint as the DS06 in a cabinet that goes significantly louder.

At 200×555×215mm and 10kg, the DS26 is the slim-profile high-output option in the DS range — the right choice when horizontal space is restricted but output and coverage consistency across a long room or narrow venue is the priority. IP54 rating and Polyurea coating apply throughout.

Why dual 6" drivers instead of a single larger driver?

Two 6" drivers stacked vertically produce a tighter vertical dispersion pattern than a single larger driver of equivalent output, a well-established acoustic principle used in line array design and column speakers. In practice this means the DS26 throws further down the length of a room with less energy wasted toward the ceiling and floor. For a long narrow venue, say, a bar corridor, a restaurant with a deep floor plan, a church with extended pew rows, a conference room where seats are far from the speaker the DS26 delivers more consistent level and clarity from front to back than a single-driver cabinet at the same SPL rating.

The 4Ω impedance is worth noting for system designers: at 4Ω the DS26 draws more current from the amplifier than an 8Ω cabinet at the same power level. Check amplifier minimum impedance ratings before specifying, and factor the load into multi-cabinet system design.

The complete DS series — updated

The DS26 sits alongside the DS08 in peak SPL but occupies the same narrow footprint as the DS06. It is the specialist choice for installations where width is constrained and coverage consistency at distance is the design priority.

Where does the DS26 get specified?

Long narrow venues — bars, restaurants, corridors the dual 6" vertical array produces tighter vertical dispersion that maintains level consistency across the full depth of a long room. Where a single-driver cabinet loses output at distance, the DS26 holds its level further down the room.

Churches and halls with extended seating tight vertical pattern control reduces ceiling and floor reflections in reverberant spaces, improving speech intelligibility for listeners seated at distance from the speaker. The 200mm cabinet width fits structural columns, wall brackets, and architectural positions where a wider cabinet would be obtrusive.

Wall-mount and flown positions with restricted horizontal space at 200mm wide the DS26 fits in positions where the DS08 or DS10 physically cannot. Same peak SPL, same IP54 rating, same mounting system — in a cabinet that fits a 200mm recess or wall bracket position.

Conference rooms requiring high output from a slim profile flown or wall-mounted, the DS26 covers long conference tables and deep boardrooms with even level distribution from a cabinet that disappears architecturally.
