Audiocenter DS12 - 12" Point-Source Installation Loudspeaker
The Audiocenter DS12 is a 400W passive full-range loudspeaker with a 12" LF driver, 3.0" voice coil, and 128dB continuous / 134dB peak SPL — the flagship of the DS series and the cabinet that takes the range into large venue, touring, and high-output permanent installation territory. Frequency response extends to 42Hz (–10dB), which is genuine full-range reproduction covering the bottom octave of bass programme without subwoofer support in many applications. Two side handles, a symmetrical 45° monitor angle, and the selectable 0° or 10° pole mount make the DS12 as practical on a stage floor as it is flown or wall-mounted. IP54 rating and Polyurea coating apply throughout.

The DS06 and DS08 are the compact installation models — conference rooms, bars, restaurants, courtyards, and fill positions. The DS10 and DS12 are the high-output models for larger venues, outdoor stages, live music, and applications where the smaller cabinets reach their limits. All four share the same mounting system, IP54 rating, rotatable horn, and Polyurea coating.
What does the DS12 add over the DS10?
The step from DS10 to DS12 is not just more power. Three things change that matter in practice.
The 12" LF driver with 3.0" voice coil extends low-frequency response to 42Hz — a full 13Hz lower than the DS10's 55Hz. At 42Hz the DS12 is reproducing kick drum fundamentals, bass guitar body, and the lowest octave of programme content that gives music its physical weight. In a large venue without subwoofers, this is the difference between music that sounds complete and music that sounds thin.
The 400W power handling and 134dB peak SPL give the DS12 headroom that touring and large venue applications require. Where the DS10 sustains 124dB continuous, the DS12 sustains 128dB — a 4dB difference that matters significantly at the programme levels a large outdoor stage or nightclub demands across a full night.
The symmetrical 45° monitor angle means the DS12 doubles as a floor monitor without a separate wedge. Two side handles make two-person carry and positioning practical at 19kg. These are details that matter on a touring rig or a venue where the same cabinet moves between configurations.
Where does the DS12 get specified?
Large venues and nightclubs — 134dB peak SPL and 42Hz low-frequency extension produce the output and bass depth that a large room requires at full programme levels. The DS12 runs as a main PA cabinet in medium-large venues without subwoofer augmentation for most music formats.
Outdoor stages and festivals — 400W continuous power handling sustains full output in open-air environments where thermal compression in smaller drivers becomes audible during extended high-level operation. IP54 handles the weather.
Touring productions — the 45° monitor angle, two side handles, and rugged Polyurea coating make the DS12 practical for a touring rig where the same cabinet serves as a main, a side-fill, and a stage monitor across different shows. One cabinet type, multiple deployment roles.
Houses of worship with large sanctuaries — 42Hz extension reproduces the full range of a pipe organ, a grand piano, or a contemporary worship band without the low-frequency gap that a 10" driver leaves. The 1.2kHz crossover point keeps the transition between drivers well below the critical midrange frequencies for vocal clarity.
Large conference centres and event spaces — flown on M8 rigging at 0° or 10° downward angle, the DS12 covers large flat-floor spaces with 90° horizontal dispersion and 128dB continuous output that fills the room at any programme level an event requires.
Sports arenas and outdoor public address — the IP54 rating and Polyurea coating make the DS12 a genuine permanent outdoor installation option for sports facilities, open-air amphitheatres, and public address systems that cannot be brought indoors between events.
