ZYCOO IPS-M1-BW Network Speaker with RGB Strobe
The ZYCOO IPS-M1-BW is a SIP wall speaker with a built-in RGB LED strobe. It plays announcements and flashes a strobe at the same time, so an alert is heard and seen. It has a dual-microphone design for two-way intercom and registers with the ZYCOO IP Audio Center or any standard SIP server or IP-PBX. If you also need text, a clock or countdowns on a screen, see the IPS-M1-D1W, which is the same speaker with a colour LCD.
It suits schools and campuses, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings and public safety sites where routine announcements and emergency alerts both need to be noticed, including areas where people may not hear a speaker alone.
Sound and strobe in one unit
Audio and strobe can be linked to the same event. An emergency trigger can play a tone or message and start a strobe profile at the same time, using preset alert scenarios.
- RGB strobe: red, green or blue at low, medium or high brightness, with configurable profiles that can be tied to different system events.
- Event scheduler: run timed messages, bells and announcements.
- Live, prerecorded and scheduled audio: use the speaker for live paging, scheduled broadcasts and emergency notifications.
- Zone paging: target selected zones or groups using SIP, multicast or P2P.
Triggers and wearable smart buttons
The speaker has Bluetooth 5.0 with BLE and works with the IPS-K-BT1 programmable wearable button. A press can sound an alarm, play music or call another person. For the alarm, the speaker forwards the signal to the IP Audio Center server, which triggers all connected IP speakers to play it.
Network and power
The IPS-M1-BW connects over Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), which suits spaces where running a cable is difficult. A single PoE+ cable can carry both power and network, or you can use an external 24V/2A DC supply.
| Power source | Audio power | Max sound pressure level | Power consumption |
|---|
| External DC (24V/2A) | 10W | 101dB | 15W |
| PoE+ (802.3at) | 10W | 101dB | 15W |
| PoE (802.3af) | 8W | 99dB | 12W |
PoE+ gives the same output as DC power.
Speech-focused audio
The speaker uses a 4.5" full-range driver with a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz and a sensitivity of 91dB at 1m/1W. That suits rooms, corridors and waiting areas. For very loud or outdoor areas, a horn speaker such as the IPS-H1 is a better fit.
SIP audio codecs are G.722, G.711 A-law, G.711 u-law and Opus. G.722 and Opus provide wideband voice, and the speaker streams MP3 for background music.
Volume that follows the room
Adaptive volume control (AGC) uses a separate ambient microphone to measure room noise, so it keeps working while the intercom microphone is in use. Output rises in busy spaces and drops when it is quiet. The VC-Z01 network volume controller can also be used for local volume adjustment.
Works with your phone system
The IPS-M1-BW is a standard SIP endpoint. It registers with any SIP server or IP-PBX as an extension, including the ZYCOO IP Audio Center, and does not need the IP Audio Center to work. Three SIP account lines let it register to more than one system. Your PBX needs to support at least one of its codecs, and G.711 is supported almost everywhere.
Paging, intercom and integration
- Two-way intercom: HD two-way audio with G.722 wideband, to SIP extensions or a control room.
- Multicast and P2P: multicast scales across large sites, and P2P allows direct audio between endpoints without a server.
- ONVIF compatible: connects to video surveillance platforms for event-linked alerts.
- Flexible API and MQTT: integrate with automation tools and third-party platforms.
- Dry contact output and switch input: trigger external equipment, or start an alert from a button or sensor.
Installation
The unit mounts to a wall, either vertically or at an angle. Vertical mounting gives a clean fit in classrooms, offices and waiting areas, and angling it in a higher position directs sound toward the listening area. The housing is aluminium with a textured white epoxy finish. Configuration and monitoring are done through a web interface, and 8GB of onboard storage holds audio files for scheduled playback. The operating range is -20°C to 50°C. The warranty is 24 months.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the IPS-M1-BW and the IPS-M1-D1W?
The BW has audio and a strobe only, with no screen. The D1W adds a colour LCD for text, a clock, countdowns and caller information. Both share the same audio, networking and integration features.
Does it have a screen?
No. The IPS-M1-BW is the non-display model. For a screen, choose the IPS-M1-D1W or the dual-sided IPS-M1-D2W.
Can it connect over Wi-Fi?
Yes. It supports Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi.
Does it work with wearable panic buttons?
It supports BLE wearable smart buttons, such as the IPS-K-BT1.
Will it work with my phone system?
Yes, if your system is a standard SIP server or IP-PBX. It registers as a SIP extension and does not need the ZYCOO IP Audio Center.
Can people talk back through the speaker?
Yes. The built-in microphone supports two-way intercom.
Does it need a separate amplifier?
No. It has a built-in Class-D amplifier and works as a standalone network speaker.
What warranty does it have?
24 months.
