ZYCOO IPS-W1-R1 Network Wall Mount Speaker with Wireless Microphone
The ZYCOO IPS-W1-R1 is a SIP wall mount speaker supplied with a 2.4GHz wireless microphone, ready to use. A teacher, presenter or staff member can speak through the speaker without a mic cable, and the speaker also handles live paging, announcements, background music and emergency notifications. It delivers up to 16 watts from a single PoE+ cable and registers with the ZYCOO IP Audio Center or any third-party IP-PBX.
Works with any standard SIP server or IP-PBX, including the ZYCOO IP Audio Center.
It suits classrooms, lecture spaces, meeting rooms, corridors, offices, retail spaces and healthcare facilities where speech needs to be clear and directed at the people in the room.
Wireless microphone included
The wireless microphone is supplied with the speaker. Its audio plays through the IPS-W1-R1, or through the IPS-W1-R1 and a connected APS-W1 extension speaker. It is not sent to other speakers on the network. That makes it a good fit for single-room use such as a classroom, hall or training room, where the person speaking and the people listening are in the same space.
If you need to speak to multiple rooms or zones, use a network paging method such as a microphone console, the IP Audio Dispatch App or SIP paging, which work with every speaker on the system.
The speaker is otherwise the same as the standard IPS-W1, so you can mix both models on one site and manage them from the same system.
A full-range speaker for speech and music
The IPS-W1-R1 uses a 5.25" woofer and a 1.5" tweeter, with a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz. That covers speech and gives background music some body, so one speaker can handle bell tones, announcements and a playlist. Sensitivity is 85dB at 1m/1W, with a maximum sound pressure level of 95dB.
That level suits indoor spaces with normal ambient noise. For loud workshops, loading areas or outdoor sites, a horn speaker such as the IPS-H1 is a better fit.
SIP audio codecs are G.722, G.711 A-law, G.711 u-law and Opus. G.722 and Opus provide wideband voice, and the speaker also streams MP3 for background music.
Works with your phone system
The IPS-W1 is a standard SIP endpoint. It registers with any SIP server or IP-PBX as an extension, including the ZYCOO IP Audio Center, and does not need the IP Audio Center to work. Three SIP account lines let it register to more than one system.
Worth checking at design stage:
- Audio codecs: it supports G.722, G.711 A-law, G.711 u-law and Opus. Your PBX needs to support at least one. G.711 is supported almost everywhere, and G.722 or Opus give wideband voice.
- Paging calls: confirm your PBX can send paging calls to a SIP extension and how the speaker answers them. Test one speaker before rolling out.
- Multicast: multicast paging needs a network that handles multicast. Check your switch settings.
Volume that follows the room
Adaptive volume control (AGC) uses a separate, independent microphone to measure ambient noise, so it keeps working while the intercom microphone is in use. The speaker raises its output when a corridor fills up and lowers it when the space empties.
Power options and output
The IPS-W1-R1 runs on PoE, PoE+ or an external 24V/2A DC supply. Output depends on the power source and on whether an extension speaker is connected:
| Power source | Standalone | With one APS-W1 extension |
|---|
| External DC (24V/2A) | 16W, 95dB max | 2 x 16W, 2 x 95dB max |
| PoE+ (802.3at) | 16W, 95dB max | 2 x 8W, 2 x 93dB max |
| PoE (802.3af) | 10W, 93dB max | 2 x 5W, 2 x 90dB max |
On PoE and PoE+, the power budget is shared when an extension is connected, so each speaker gets half the output. If you need full output from both speakers, use the DC supply.
Two speakers from one network port
Connect one ZYCOO APS-W1 extension wall mount speaker to the extension port and a single network endpoint drives two speakers. The wireless microphone plays through both. This cuts cabling and PoE switch port use, which helps in long corridors, large classrooms or open-plan spaces where one speaker position is not enough.
Paging, intercom and integration
- Two-way intercom: the built-in microphone supports two-way communication from the speaker, with no separate intercom unit.
- Zone paging and multicast: multicast scales across large sites, and P2P allows direct audio between endpoints without a server.
- Three SIP account lines: register the speaker to more than one account or system.
- Standard SIP: works with the ZYCOO IP Audio Center and third-party IP-PBX platforms.
- ONVIF compatible: connects to video surveillance platforms for event-linked paging and security workflows.
- Flexible API and MQTT: integrate with automation tools, third-party platforms and custom applications.
- Dry contact output and two switch inputs: trigger external equipment such as door locks or beacons, or start a page from a button or sensor.
- VC-Z01 compatible: works with the ZYCOO VC-Z01 Network Volume Controller for local volume adjustment.
Installation and build
The enclosure is thickened, flame-resistant UL94-V0 rated ABS, and the speaker is designed for wall mounting. PoE/PoE+ carries power and data on one Ethernet cable, and configuration and monitoring are done through a web interface, so settings can be changed remotely. The operating range is -20°C to 50°C, and the speaker is intended for indoor use only.

Frequently asked questions
Is the wireless microphone included?
Yes. The IPS-W1-R1 comes with a 2.4GHz wireless microphone, ready to use.
Can the wireless microphone be heard on other network speakers?
No. The wireless microphone plays only through the IPS-W1-R1, or through the IPS-W1-R1 and a connected APS-W1 extension speaker. To address other rooms or zones, use network paging from a microphone console, the IP Audio Dispatch App or a SIP phone.
What is the difference between the IPS-W1 and the IPS-W1-R1?
The IPS-W1-R1 includes a 2.4GHz wireless microphone. Otherwise the two models share the same speaker, power options, features and dimensions.
Does the IPS-W1-R1 need a separate amplifier?
No. It has a built-in Class-D amplifier and works as a standalone network speaker.
Can I power it with PoE?
Yes. It runs on PoE (up to 10W output) or PoE+ (up to 16W output). A 24V/2A DC supply is optional, and gives full output from both speakers when an extension is connected.
How do I cover a larger area?
Connect one APS-W1 extension speaker to the extension port. One network connection then drives two speakers.
Can I use it outdoors?
No. It is designed for indoor use. For outdoor or noisy areas, look at the IPS-H1 network horn speaker.
Does it work with third-party phone systems?
Yes. It uses standard SIP and works with the ZYCOO IP Audio Center and other third-party IP-PBX systems.
What warranty does it have?
24 months.
Will it work with my phone system?
Yes, if your system is a standard SIP server or IP-PBX. The [model] registers as a SIP extension. It does not need the ZYCOO IP Audio Center.
Do I need a ZYCOO system to use it?
No. It works with third-party SIP servers and IP-PBX systems as well as the ZYCOO IP Audio Center.
Can I use more than one phone system at once?
The speaker supports three SIP lines, so it can register to more than one account or system.
Which codecs does it support?
G.722, G.711 A-law, G.711 u-law and Opus.
