Hire the DAS Audio Convert-15A High-Performance PA System
Some events just need sound. This one needs to be felt.
If you're running a DJ set, a dance party, a live band, or anything where the room needs to move with the music, not just hear it then this is the system that does it. It's the same caliber of rig used in nightclubs, theatres, and auditoriums where the crowd's energy depends on what's coming through the speakers. Deep, tight bass. Crystal-clear highs even at volume. The kind of sound quality that people notice without knowing why; they just know the night felt better.
This isn't a system for ticking a box. It's for the events where sound is the experience and where the people in the room can tell the difference.
Why this system stands apart
The Convert 15A speaker at the heart of this rig isn't just another PA box. DAS Audio discontinued it a couple of years ago not because something better came along, but because it became too expensive to keep building properly. What replaced it costs less to manufacture and, in places, delivers less. Anyone who's run sound on both can hear it immediately: more headroom, more dynamic range, more resolution than most modern systems offer at any price.
Paired with four rear-loaded horn subwoofers a design that produces tighter, more musical bass than the boomy reflex subs most companies still use; this rig is built to reward a good ear, not just fill a room with noise.
Worth knowing before you book
This is a serious system, and it asks a little in return. It's heavy gear (those subs are 55kg each), it needs a proper van and experienced hands to move, and it throws sound in a focused, long-throw pattern rather than scattering wide which is exactly what makes it sound so good when it's positioned right, but means it's not the right fit for every room. Edwards strongly recommends delivery, professional setup, and an operator for this one; it's built for events where getting it right matters more than doing it yourself.
If your event needs wide, even coverage across a broad space instead, ask us about VANTEC or EVENT array systems instead and we'll point you to the right rig for your room.
What's included:
- 2 × DAS Audio Convert 15A active tops
- 4 × DAS Audio Avant118A powered 18" subwoofers
- All cables required
- Mixer not included: hire separately or bring your own
Ideal for: Large corporate events · Concerts and live music · High-end DJ events · Discerning clients where audio quality is a priority · Up to 900 people indoors · Operator experience recommended
The system requires a large van and a minimum of two experienced crew; the four Avant118A subwoofers are 55kg each and the Convert 15A cabinets require careful handling. Edwards strongly recommends delivery and professional setup for this system; it is not suited to self-collect without significant AV experience. A separate mixing console is required. Edwards hires a full range of analogue and digital desks to suit: from the Soundcraft for straightforward events to the Allen & Heath SQ5 or SQ7 digital console for events requiring full multitrack input management, effects, and monitor mixes. Wireless microphone systems for presenters and performers can be added at booking.
