ZYCOO APS-H1 Extension Horn Speaker
The ZYCOO APS-H1 is a passive IP66 extension horn speaker that adds a second horn to an IPS-H1 network speaker. It plays the same voice page, alert tone, audio file or background music as the main speaker, and it takes its signal and power from the main speaker’s amplifier. It needs no IP address, no SIP account, no PoE switch port and no extra network cable.
It suits schools and campuses, healthcare sites, retail, government and office buildings, hotels, shopping malls and public areas where one horn does not cover the space, such as car parks, playgrounds, loading yards, long fence lines and large open areas.
Cover more area without more network infrastructure
The APS-H1 connects to the IPS-H1’s extension port. It is a passive speaker, so it is not a network device and does not appear on your network or in your SIP system. That means no extra switch port, no extra endpoint to register and no second network cable run. On outdoor sites, where each cable run can mean trenching or long conduit, one network connection driving two horns can save real installation cost.
Power sharing
The APS-H1 is powered by the IPS-H1’s amplifier, and the available power is shared between the two horns. Output depends on how the main speaker is powered:
| Main speaker power source | IPS-H1 standalone | With one APS-H1 |
|---|
| External DC (24V/2A) | 20W, 118dB max | 2 x 20W, 2 x 118dB max |
| PoE+ (802.3at) | 16W, 117dB max | 2 x 8W, 2 x 114dB max |
| PoE (802.3af) | 10W, 115dB max | 2 x 5W, 2 x 112dB max |
On PoE and PoE+, each horn gets half the output when an extension is connected. If you need full output from both horns, power the IPS-H1 from the DC supply.
Built for distance and noise
The APS-H1 uses a high-efficiency horn with a 1.5" midrange driver, with a frequency response of 400Hz to 8kHz and sensitivity of 105dB at 1m/1W. This range is tuned for projecting speech over distance rather than reproducing music. It is acoustically and visually matched to the IPS-H1, and playback is synchronised with the main horn.
Weatherproof and simple to install
The chassis is anti-rust treated 1060 aluminium, rated IP66 for dust and water, with an operating range of -20°C to 70°C. It mounts to a wall or pole using a bracket. The connection is a single cable from the SPK OUT port on the IPS-H1 to the SPK IN port on the APS-H1.
Compatible speakers
The APS-H1 is designed for the IPS-H1. It supports a 1+1 deployment, meaning one extension horn per IPS-H1.

Frequently asked questions
Does the APS-H1 need its own network connection?
No. It has no IP address, SIP account or PoE port. It connects to the IPS-H1 with a single speaker cable.
Does it need a power supply?
No. It is powered by the IPS-H1’s amplifier.
Does it get the full output of the main speaker?
The amplifier power is shared between the two horns. On PoE+ each gets 8W, on PoE 5W, and on the 24V DC supply 20W each.
How many extension horns can one IPS-H1 drive?
One. The APS-H1 supports a 1+1 deployment.
Is it weatherproof?
Yes. It is rated IP66 and operates from -20°C to 70°C.
Can I use it with other IPS speakers?
No. The APS-H1 is designed for the IPS-H1. For indoor use see the APS-C1 ceiling and APS-W1 wall extensions.
