ZYCOO APS-W1 Extension Wall Mount Speaker
The ZYCOO APS-W1 is a passive extension speaker that adds a second speaker position to an IPS-W1 or IPS-W1-R1 network speaker. It plays the same voice page, alert tone, audio file or background music as the main speaker, and it takes its signal and power from the main speaker’s amplifier. It needs no IP address, no SIP account, no PoE switch port and no extra network cable.
It suits schools, healthcare facilities, retail stores, government and office buildings, hotels, shopping malls and public areas where one speaker position does not cover the room, such as long corridors, large classrooms and open-plan spaces.
Cover more area without more network infrastructure
The APS-W1 connects to the IPS-W1’s extension port. It is a passive speaker, so it is not a network device and does not appear on your network or in your SIP system. That means no extra switch port, no extra licence or endpoint to register, and no extra cable run back to the comms room. One network connection drives two speakers.
Power sharing
The APS-W1 is powered by the IPS-W1’s amplifier, and the available power is shared between the two speakers. Output depends on how the main speaker is powered:
| Main speaker power source | IPS-W1 standalone | With one APS-W1 |
|---|
| External DC (24V/2A) | 16W | 2 x 16W |
| PoE+ (802.3at) | 16W | 2 x 8W |
| PoE (802.3af) | 10W | 2 x 5W |
On PoE and PoE+, each speaker gets half the output when an extension is connected. If you need full output from both speakers, power the IPS-W1 from the DC supply.
Matched sound and looks
The APS-W1 uses the same 5.25" woofer and 1.5" tweeter as the IPS-W1, with a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz and sensitivity of 85dB at 1m/1W. It is acoustically and visually matched to the main speaker, so the two sound consistent and look like a pair. Playback is synchronised with the main speaker.
Simple installation
The connection is a single cable from the SPK OUT port on the IPS-W1 to the SPK IN port on the APS-W1. The APS-W1 uses the same wall-mount hardware as the IPS-W1, so mounting is the same as the main speaker. The housing is UL94-V0 flame-retardant ABS, and the speaker is for indoor use.
Compatible speakers
The APS-W1 is designed for the IPS-W1, and works with the IPS-W1-R1 wireless microphone version. When the wireless microphone is used with an IPS-W1-R1, its audio plays through the APS-W1 as well.

Frequently asked questions
Does the APS-W1 need its own network connection?
No. It has no IP address, SIP account or PoE port. It connects to the IPS-W1 with a single speaker cable.
Does it need a power supply?
No. It is powered by the IPS-W1’s amplifier.
Does it get the full output of the main speaker?
The amplifier power is shared between the two speakers. On PoE+ each speaker gets 8W, on PoE 5W, and on the 24V DC supply 16W each.
How many extension speakers can one IPS-W1 drive?
One. The APS-W1 supports a 1+1 deployment.
Does the wireless microphone play through it?
Yes, when paired with an IPS-W1-R1, the microphone audio plays through the APS-W1 as well.
Can I use it outdoors?
No. It is designed for indoor wall mounting. For outdoor areas, see the IPS-H1 horn speaker and its APS-H1 extension.
