ZYCOO APS-C1 Extension Ceiling Speaker
The ZYCOO APS-C1 is a passive extension speaker that adds a second ceiling speaker position to an IPS-C1 network speaker. It plays the same voice page, alert tone, audio file or background music as the main speaker, and it takes its signal and power from the main speaker’s amplifier. It needs no IP address, no SIP account, no PoE switch port and no extra network cable.
It suits schools, healthcare facilities, retail stores, government and office buildings, hotels, shopping malls and public areas where one ceiling speaker does not cover the space, such as large classrooms, open-plan offices, reception areas and wide corridors.
Cover more area without more network infrastructure
The APS-C1 connects to the IPS-C1’s extension port. It is a passive speaker, so it is not a network device and does not appear on your network or in your SIP system. That means no extra switch port, no extra endpoint to register and no extra network cable run back to the comms room. One network connection drives two ceiling speakers.
Power sharing
The APS-C1 is powered by the IPS-C1’s amplifier, and the available power is shared between the two speakers. The IPS-C1 delivers up to 16W on its own, and with an extension connected that output is split across the pair. Zycoo’s datasheet does not give the per-speaker figures for the IPS-C1 pair, so check the power source and output in your design before specifying a large room.
Matched sound and looks
The APS-C1 uses a 6.5" woofer and a 1.5" tweeter, with a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz and sensitivity of 87dB at 1m/1W. It is acoustically and visually matched to the IPS-C1, so the two look like a pair in the ceiling and sound consistent. Playback is synchronised with the main speaker.
Simple installation
The connection is a single cable from the SPK OUT port on the IPS-C1 to the SPK IN port on the APS-C1. The APS-C1 is a ceiling-mount speaker, and the same speaker cable method is used for both, so installers handle both units the same way. The chassis is plastic and metal, Ø226mm x 199mm deep, so allow for that depth in the ceiling void.
Compatible speakers
The APS-C1 is designed for the IPS-C1. It supports a 1+1 deployment, meaning one extension speaker per IPS-C1.

Frequently asked questions
Does the APS-C1 need its own network connection?
No. It has no IP address, SIP account or PoE port. It connects to the IPS-C1 with a single speaker cable.
Does it need a power supply?
No. It is powered by the IPS-C1’s amplifier.
Does it get the full output of the main speaker?
The amplifier power is shared between the two speakers, so each gets a portion of the IPS-C1’s output.
How many extension speakers can one IPS-C1 drive?
One. The APS-C1 supports a 1+1 deployment.
Can I use it with other IPS speakers?
No. The APS-C1 is designed for the IPS-C1. For the wall model see the APS-W1, and for the horn model the IPS-H1’s APS-H1 extension.
Can I use it outdoors?
It is a ceiling speaker with no IP rating listed, so it is intended for indoor use.
