This is the transmitter unit of a USB 3.2 Gen1 (5Gbps) extender system, used to send USB signal over CAT cable up to 100m. The transmitter unit converts the USB3 host side signal into a CATx signal format based on HDBaseT USB, while a matching receiver unit converts the CATx signal back into a USB3 device side signal and functions as a USB hub for up to 3 devices. It supports both USB3.2 Gen1 devices and legacy USB2.0/1.1 devices, and in addition to USB3 it also extends RS232 signals and an FSYNC video signal for camera frame synchronization. It's typically paired with the corresponding receiver unit for applications such as high throughput video streaming USB devices such as cameras and capture devices where the USB host and device need to be located further apart than standard USB cable length allows.
