Dance Showcase Sound and Lighting
On Thursday, 21st August, the talented students of St Cuthbert’s College brought Clouston Hall to life with their 2025 Dance Showcase, a vibrant display of skill, creativity, and dedication. The performers’ months of rehearsals and commitment shone through in every movement, captivating the audience with their passion and artistry.
Edwards Sound, Lighting & AV was honoured to support the students’ performances by providing professional lighting and sound solutions for the event. Our carefully designed lighting highlighted the dancers’ precision and energy, using vibrant colours and dynamic effects to enhance the mood of each piece. Crystal-clear sound complemented the choreography, allowing the performers’ hard work to take centre stage. The combination of their talent and our technical support created an unforgettable experience in Clouston Hall.

Lighting Up the Stage
Our team set up a complete theatre lighting rig for this special performance to add energy and
atmosphere to the dancers’ routines: colourful backdrops, spotlight moments, and exciting
visuals enhanced this performance.
Highlights included:
● Moving head profile lights that created dramatic beams, sweeping movements, and splashes of
colour across the stage.
● Warm white Fresnels that gave soft, natural light, perfect for illuminating group dances.
● Backdrop lighting (cyc lights) that transformed the stage background and set the mood
for each routine.
● Our technician controlled the lighting and complex cues through a Chamsys QuickQ-20 lighting console.
Crystal-Clear Sound
We supplied a DAS Audio sound system and wireless microphones to ensure the music was
powerful and exceptionally clear. The DAS Audio system, known for its high fidelity and
reliability, ensured that every beat and every word of the performance, along with all
announcements, reached every corner of Clouston Hall. A dance showcase wouldn’t be
complete without great sound, and Edwards delivered!
