Company Profile

Who we are:

Edwards Sound is a 100% Kiwi owned and operated business, with over 50 years on the clock. The company started in the early 1960’s supporting the local Auckland market and beyond, providing professional sound, lighting and audio visual solutions. As with a fine wine, our skills and the capabilities of our staff have only improved with age.

Our operations centre in Penrose is a 13,000 sq foot facility packed to the rafters with state of the art sound, lighting and AV equipment for hire or sale. If we don’t have it – then it probably doesn’t exist.

More Vlogs...

Week 24: "It's really straightforward" - that's the conclusion of the office lady at one of our schools who is learning how to use the 2N Bell System. And a close up look at an awards/conference event at the Grand Millennium Hotel, Auckland.

Week 23: Two large events - one for 450 people and the other streamed across three different locations. Plus a school finds a way to stop thieves from stealing their outdoor speakers: try scaling a seven metre pole!

Week 22: A lighting installation in the exclusive bar area for Spark customers at the Spark Arena, more support for customers at a 2N Audio-over-IP paging training session and the hire team set up for the Auckland Rugby League Awards at Alexandra Park.

Week 21: Streaming an AGM via UStream - with Livestream. That's a lot of streaming. And setting up our ever popular LED dance floor for a wedding at the Novotel Auckland Airport.

Week 20: Another day, another trade show...this week Edwards Hire were supporting the 'Baby Show', firing confetti (and some golden tickets!) into a conference audience and setting up for a band at a Wild Turkey Whiskey event. The DAS Artec's did their thing.

Week 19: PA system for a childcare centre, 6 zones for maximum flexibility but so simple to use. And meanwhile the hire team came over all glitzy at a cocktail function.

Week 18: showing off our new LED panel at the Auckland Food Show.

Week 17: testing the LED dance floor...by driving a car on it!

Week 16showing the administrative team at Marlborough School how to use their new 'bell system', or audio-over-IP paging system. And we're having some fun at HIANZ with our new LED dance floor, CO2 effects and the cold spark machines.

Week 15: Setting up the event lighting at Crowne Plaza Auckland, one of our new LED screens at Fine Food New Zealand 2018 at the ASB Showgrounds and planning a Fashion Show.

Week 14Night Lights at MOTAT and showcasing the micker pro at the Auckland Principal Association Breakfast.

Week 13: Follow Edwards at an International Pro-Audio and Lighting Trade Show as we source the latest products for our resellers and clients here in NZ. Oh - and see how we test them...

Week 12: Setting up a sports event, testing a snow machine and a 2N PA and sound system installation

Week 11Aeromic paid us a visit to show us all the exciting new products,  we went up to the 20th floor of a building in the CBD to set up for a panel discussion and we flew to Wellington to run the AV for The Food Show, adding technical continuity for the chefs on the road show.

Week 10: A DAS Audio installation, a hire team meeting, a gift from Shipwrecked Festival that we supported earlier this year and how to add a module to a PA System.

Week 9:  See inside an onsite planning meeting for a new build and be envious of the DAS Aero 12's rigged up for a Friendly Potential third birthday party. And for all those waiting to see the end result of the demo room upgrade...check out the gear we've got to play with...

Week 8: We look at three different IP Paging systems - one at Newmarket Primary School, one at Te Atatu Intermediate and one at Marlborough Primary School. Then we are rigging some DAS Audio Convert 15A’s with a pair of subwoofers at Q!

Week 7: sales meeting, City Fitness Albany audio upgrade, shipping ex-hire stock to Samoa, Ascot Hospital event and an interesting outdoor horn speaker installation at a school.

Week 6: Busy week installing several AV systems and setting up for a gala dinner.

Week 5: 'Edwards On Tour' at SPANZ Conference 2018 in Queenstown and the IDEAL Electrical Trade Show 2018 in Dunedin

Week 4: sharing the latest on AV to school leaders at the Auckland Primary Principals Association breakfast, installing the DAS Audio experience into some lucky schools - they won't know what's hit them. And some staff training...

Week 3: stepping inside the legendary Auckland performance venue Cassette Nine, a close up look into the minds of our hire team and the first of probably many installments on the re-purposing of the boardroom...

Week 2: our installers working out, customer training on our number one selling PA System the Challenger 1000D and a glimpse into the Edwards mothership.

Week 1: The original Vlog - a week in the life of Edwards: the install team working hard at Snow Planet's cafe, transforming REINZ's board room, getting detailed at a gym and catching up with a happy customer at The Good Home Bar; the Hire team prepping for the Shipwrecked Festival 2018, getting giddy about the new DAS Audio Vantec 12A speakers and deep in thought at a Hire Team Meeting.
